To ask for Google reviews after a tour, send a short, personal thank-you with the direct review link. Invite an honest account of the experience, without asking for a particular rating. Choose a moment after the activity has finished, when the guest can decide freely whether to respond.
The useful starting point is a repeatable process: the correct business listing, one approved message and one person responsible for sending it. A longer message or repeated reminders will not fix a broken link.
Prepare the review link before contacting guests
Open your Google Business Profile and find the option to get more reviews. Copy the review link and test it on a phone. Check the business name and location, especially if you manage several branches. Google also provides a QR code. Its official instructions for review links and QR codes explain the current steps.
A guest needs a Google Account to post. Explain this if someone gets stuck, but let them use their own account and write in their own words.
A WhatsApp message you can adapt
The following is a message template, not a customer testimonial. Replace the bracketed fields before sending:
Hi [first name], thank you for joining [activity] with [business]. If you would like to share your experience, you can leave an honest review here: [Google review link]. Your feedback helps future travellers understand the activity. Thank you for your time!
Use the conversation already associated with the booking when appropriate. Check that the activity has actually finished and that no colleague has already sent the request. Do not insert a claim such as “we know you loved it”; you are asking for the guest’s view.
A short email version
Subject: Thank you for joining [activity]
Hi [first name],
Thank you for spending part of your trip with [business]. If you would like to share how [activity] went, you can write a Google review here: [review link]. We welcome honest feedback about your experience.
Thank you,
[name or team]
Keep the review link separate from sales offers and further booking links. A reader should understand the purpose without scrolling through a promotion.
Use the same invitation criteria for everyone
Invite guests based on a completed experience, rather than whether they gave a positive private score. Google’s review policies prohibit incentives, selective requests for positive reviews and pressure over the rating or content. Avoid discounts, gifts, requested five-star ratings and suggested wording for the review itself.
Keep a simple internal record: booking reference, activity date, request date and staff member. If the guest has already responded or asks not to receive further messages, stop the follow-up. There is no universal number of reminders that suits every business.
What to do once reviews arrive
Read the feedback and use recurring practical points to improve your meeting-point instructions, activity description or guest communications. A review request and displaying reviews on your website are separate steps. Before asking again, check reviews missing from the website even though they already appear on Google. If guests repeatedly mention unclear times or meeting points, use that feedback to improve the confirmation your guest receives.
For the display step, follow our guide to adding Google reviews to a tour website. TurIA Reviews has a permanent Free plan for showing reviews; that plan does not include review-request sending. The templates above can be used in your own normal communications. For the operation before the activity, explore TurIA’s approach to booking management for tours; review requests are a separate process.
